All quotations provided by DNA Steelworks are based on the information available to us at the time the quotation is prepared.
Unless otherwise stated in writing:
Quotations are valid for the period specified on the quotation;
A quotation is not a binding acceptance of an order until it has been accepted by both parties;
Prices may be subject to change where the scope of work, specifications, materials or site conditions change;
Additional work or materials not included in the original quotation may be charged separately; and
A quotation may be revised where new or additional information becomes available.
Customers are responsible for reviewing quotations carefully before accepting them.
A quotation will be considered accepted when the customer provides written acceptance, makes the required payment or deposit, or otherwise confirms their instruction for DNA Steelworks to proceed with the work.
Once a quotation has been accepted, the agreed scope of work, specifications, materials, pricing and payment terms will form the basis of the project.
Changes requested after acceptance may result in additional costs and/or changes to the completion date.
Where required, DNA Steelworks may conduct a site assessment before commencing work.
Site measurements and assessments are intended to establish the requirements of the project and identify relevant site conditions.
Where site conditions differ from information supplied by the customer or from conditions reasonably identifiable during the initial assessment, DNA Steelworks may need to revise the quotation or scope of work.
Additional work resulting from unforeseen site conditions may be charged separately.
The customer is responsible for providing DNA Steelworks with accurate and complete information necessary to perform the work.
The customer must:
Provide reasonable access to the property and work area;
Ensure that the site is reasonably accessible and safe for our employees and contractors;
Inform us of any known underground services, electrical cables, pipes or other relevant infrastructure;
Obtain any permissions or approvals that are the customer’s responsibility;
Ensure that the property owner or authorised representative has approved the proposed work;
Remove or protect personal belongings and items that may be affected by the work where reasonably necessary; and
Provide any information that may reasonably affect the installation or project.
DNA Steelworks will not be responsible for delays, additional costs or damage arising from inaccurate information supplied by the customer or from conditions that could not reasonably have been identified beforehand.
Depending on the nature, size and location of a project, certain municipal approvals, building plans, body corporate approvals, landlord permissions or other authorisations may be required.
Unless expressly stated in writing as part of the agreed scope of work, obtaining such approvals is the customer’s responsibility.
Customers should confirm applicable requirements with the relevant municipality, body corporate, landlord or other authority before work begins.
Where DNA Steelworks agrees to assist with an approval or application, any related costs and responsibilities will be agreed separately.
DNA Steelworks will endeavour to supply materials and complete work in accordance with the specifications agreed in the quotation.
Minor variations in colour, finish, texture, dimensions or appearance may occur due to:
Manufacturing tolerances;
Material availability;
Natural variations;
Lighting and viewing conditions; or
Differences between product samples, photographs and actual materials.
Where a particular material, colour, finish, brand or specification is essential to the project, this should be confirmed in writing before the quotation is accepted.
Any changes requested by the customer after acceptance of a quotation may affect the project price and completion date.
DNA Steelworks reserves the right to charge additional amounts for:
Additional materials;
Additional labour;
Additional installation work;
Changes to dimensions or specifications;
Additional site visits;
Rework caused by customer-requested changes; or
Unforeseen site conditions.
Where reasonably possible, additional costs will be communicated to the customer before the additional work is undertaken.
Payment terms will be specified in the quotation or invoice issued to the customer.
Where a deposit or advance payment is required, work may only commence once the required payment has been received and cleared.
The customer remains responsible for payment of all amounts due in accordance with the agreed payment terms.
DNA Steelworks reserves the right to suspend work where payments are overdue.
Any additional costs arising from delays caused by non-payment may be charged to the customer where permitted by law.
Installation dates are estimates unless a specific date has been expressly confirmed in writing.
Installation and completion dates may be affected by:
Weather conditions;
Material availability;
Supplier delays;
Site access;
Customer-requested changes;
Municipal or third-party approvals;
Unforeseen site conditions;
Labour or logistical issues; or
Events outside DNA Steelworks’ reasonable control.
DNA Steelworks will make reasonable efforts to keep customers informed of significant delays.
Certain steelwork and installation activities may be affected by adverse weather conditions.
Where weather conditions create unsafe working conditions or make installation impractical, DNA Steelworks may postpone or reschedule the work.
Reasonable efforts will be made to arrange an alternative date.
Cancellation terms may depend on the stage of the project and whether materials have already been ordered, manufactured or prepared.
If a customer cancels an accepted project, DNA Steelworks may be entitled to recover reasonable costs already incurred, including where applicable:
Materials purchased;
Materials manufactured or specially ordered;
Labour already performed;
Transport costs;
Site preparation costs;
Design or planning work; and
Other reasonable costs incurred in preparation for the project.
Any refund or amount payable following cancellation will be determined in accordance with the applicable agreement and South African law.
DNA Steelworks aims to provide workmanship of a professional standard.
If a customer believes that work is defective or does not conform to the agreed specifications, the customer should notify DNA Steelworks as soon as reasonably possible and provide details of the issue.
Where appropriate, DNA Steelworks will inspect the reported issue and determine whether it falls within the agreed scope of work or applicable workmanship obligations.
The customer should provide reasonable access to the property where an inspection or remedial work is required.
Any warranties applicable to materials, products or workmanship will be communicated to the customer as part of the quotation, invoice or applicable project documentation.

External events;
Structural movement or failure unrelated to our workmanship; or

DNA Steelworks will take reasonable care when carrying out work at a customer’s property.
Customers should inform us of any known conditions, hazards, fragile structures, underground services or other circumstances that may affect the work.
DNA Steelworks will not be responsible for damage caused by concealed or undisclosed conditions that could not reasonably have been identified before work commenced.
Where damage is caused by our negligence or failure to exercise reasonable care, the matter will be addressed in accordance with applicable law.
